California Transportation Foundation
Connected Consulting provides contract executive leadership, strategic planning, communications planning, event management, website design and maintenance, and oversees operations for this 501c(3) non-profit charitable foundation. We are responsible for planning and executing six signature events per year, fundraising and donor development activities, as well as recruiting, onboarding and supporting a board of 23 directors, and leading staff and volunteers to deliver results for the foundation.
Orange County Council of Governments
Connected Consulting provides contract executive director services for the Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG), a voluntary Joint Powers Authority. We led the development of the agency's first strategic plan and recently updated the plan for 2022-2025 and developed a complimenting communications plan resulting in a broad refresh and redesigned website. Recently we guided OCCOG through a comprehensive governance analysis for the SCAG region. We also managed and implemented the development of the OCCOG Complete Streets Handbook. We work closely with OCCOG's board members and technical staff to make sure Orange County's voice is heard in regional planning activities and jurisdictions have the support they need.
Connected Consulting provides Executive Director Services to FuturePorts, a 501c(6) nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to promoting the sustainability of Southern California's supply chain. In addition to leading the day-to-day operations for the organization, Connected Consulting redesigned the website, led the organization's brand refresh, and handles social media management. Additionally, we updated the strategic plan for the organization and provide event management for the signature events of the organization. Marnie led the development of the Faces of Freight campaign to "put a face on freight" and grow a new "Friends of Freight" mailing list. In partnership with the Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT) and the FuturePorts Workforce and Competitiveness committee developed a Esri-powered story map to visually communicate the freight industry's contributions to the Southern California economy.
LVCVA Strategic Communications Consulting
Connected Consulting provided strategic advisement to LVCVA in support of their mobility and transportation agenda. Activities included development of strategic plan elements related to transportation for short, medium, and long term outcomes. We attended meetings and monitored agendas of transportation agencies in California to keep LVCVA apprised of actions that would impact the drive market between Southern California and La Vegas. Facilitated meetings between client and California transportation stakeholders. We led the development of a strategic plan for creation of a coalition to support investment in the I-15 corridor, MOVE I-15. Implementation activities included website design, and content development, brand development, coalition-building, and creation of infographics and pitch package
GoMentum Station Redefining Mobility Summit
Connected Consulting provided event planning support to Contra Costa County Transportation Authority and GoMentum Station for the 2015-2019 GoMentum Station Redefining Mobility Summit. Services provided included program design, mobile app management, fundraising support, sponsor coordination, speech-writing and scripting, timed agenda development, stage management, online regaistration management, and onsite event support.
UNION RYDE Re-brands
An established indoor cycling studio decided it was time to rebrand so Connected Consulting worked with the owners to develop a new brand concept, completed a new logo design, custom website design with Zingfit integration, direct email campaign and social media strategy to help retain clients and grow the studio. Then a year later, we did it all again.
Nutrivenience Digital Marketing Strategy
Launched in January 2016, Nutrivenience is a clean-eating convenience lifestyle brand. Connected Consulting developed a business plan to help direct corporate growth and define the company's value proposition. We implemented aspects of a digital marketing strategy including weekly email communications including content curation and custom graphics, support for social media and blog posts. We also completed a full website design including content creation, and ongoing site administration. Additionally we designed marketing collateral and conducted market research to help refine the message and product offerings for the boutique wellness business.
CM Steel Website Re-design
Connected Consulting redesigned and optimized the website for Costa Mesa-based CM Steel. The new site better showcases the projects and services of the metal fabrication business that has produced custom work for Los Angeles World Airports, Google, Los Angeles County Metro, Port of Los Angeles, Port of Long Beach, and Target, among others.
VCCTR YES! On Measure AA Campaign
Connected Consulting designed the website for the YES! On Measure AA campaign as well as designing several e-newsletters, billboards, banners, and direct mail pieces. Marnie was also a fundraiser for the campaign, helping to raise the neccessary funds to fully deploy the campaign's communications strategy.
RCTC Strategic Communications Support
Connected Consulting provided insight and guidance to RCTC in support of the SR 91 Project to add a tolled facility and general purpose lanes along with city street improvements through Corona. The nearly $2B design-build project has faced public relations challenges as the speed and scale of the work stretched available resources. Connected Consulting augmented the public relations team already in place on the project and supported social media posting as well as managed the Corona Community Task Force on behalf of the agency. The task force acted as both a sounding board and an added communications resource by providing insight from the community to the Project team and sharing project information.
Caltrans District 8 Public Safety Program
Connected Consulting staff worked with Caltrans District 8 to develop a comprehensive construction safety outreach program that included an award-winning coloring book, age-appropriate presentations at elementary schools with visuals and talking points for presenters, stakeholder outreach, electronic communications and database management.
I-5 Gateway Public Engagement Campaign
Connected Consulting staff assisted OCTA with designing and implementing a robust public engagement campaign for the award-winning I-5 Gateway Project in Buena Park. Services included development of a public outreach plan (POP) that included a spectrum of approaches to reach multiple community sectors. Additional services included ribbon-cutting event planning and management support, vendor negotiation, regular one-on-one stakeholder updates, presentations to community groups, construction alerts, database management, partnering, and elected official briefings.
ARTIC Grand Opening VIP Ceremony
Connected Consulting provided event management services for the VIP grand opening celebration of the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center. Services included assistance with event theme development, design and administration of guest registration website and electronic communications, vendor negotiation and promotional item procurement, fundraising and sponsor coordination, volunteer management, timeline and script development and onsite event management.
